| Angry students ransack Professor's car, 2 held | | Molestation in GDC RS Pura | | SUMIT SHARMA
Jammu, Dec 6: Two students of Government Degree College (GDC), RS Pura, studying in Part III, were arrested by police after a group of students went berserk and ransacked a professor's car. They also broke down the equipments in chemistry laboratory. The students also accused Principal of shielding the professor allegedly involved in molesting girl students in college premises here today. According to reports, the incident took place in the college hours when a group of 5 students, two of whom were identified and booked by police, barged into the chemistry laboratory and started abusing the chemistry professor, Dr Jagjeet Singh. They also broke down the equipments in chemistry laboratory. Later, they rushed to the parking lot of college and ransacked professor's car bearing registration number JK02AG/3202. The arrested have been identified as Deepak Sharma son of Kuldeep Raj of village Tanna and Rahul Sharma son of Roshan Lal of village Mokaan. They were booked under Sections 452,427,504,506 RPC and 3/25 Arms Act. The rest of the alleged accused students are yet to be identified. The students threatened the principal Anita Sudan of dire consequences. The principal was threatened after she tried to intervene. If the sources are to be believed, the sudden rage erupted after students' repeated requests to principal alleging that professor was involved in molesting girl students in the college premises went in vain. A senior police officer while confirming the reports was apprised number of times about molestation in college. He further said that the allegations leveled by the students would also be verified. |
