| NPSU demands rollback in fare hike | | |

Jammu, Dec 8: National Panther Students Union (NPSU) held a protest demonstration today outside the GGM Science College, Jammu demanding a rollback in fare hike.
NPSU leaders said the fare hike has proved to be a burden on students from poor and rural background. The leaders strongly criticized the transporters who forced government authorities to increase the passenger fare.
Moreover, the hike in fare ordered last time was not in proportion to the increase in prices of fuel, so the fare raised already is enough to accommodate the fresh increase in fuel prices. On the other hand, education which is going beyond the means of common man will greatly suffer if any fare increase is announced by government.
NPSU has demanded concession in fare for students in accordance with court order in the rural as well as urban areas.
