| Thrice gold medalist athlete needs sponsors to save career | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Dec 8: Three times gold medalist, Ahsan-ul-Haq Boda of shopian needs sponsors to participate in an upcoming international sqay- martial art event in Bangladesh.
The fifteen year old athlete belongs to a poor family and is busy these days looking for a sponsor to participate in an international sqay-martial art championship event which will commence from January 9, 2013.
He has won two gold medals at District level in 2011 and 2012 and another one at the state level in July 2012.
"Poor economic conditions at home have just stranded my career and in case I do not participate in this upcoming international event, it will be a major setback for me," says Ahsan.
Ahsan's father Ghulam Hassan Boda hardly manages to feed his family and does not understand the necessary prerequisites of his son to participate in an international sports event.
Ahsan has himself managed to apply for a passport.
His passport bearing registration no 81207/6/12/2012 is still under verification, which according Ahsan is another headache keeping in view the very few days left to participate in the upcoming international event. |
