| Students protest against alleged harassment by college professor | | |

Jammu, Dec 8: The Pro-gressive Students Assoc-iation (PSA) Jammu university unit today protested against the alleged harassment (mental/physical) of a female student and the arresting of the two college students in the Govt. degree college R.S Pura.
Protesting in front of the fountain plaza, students raised slogans against the college administration-"principal ko suspend karo-suspend karo", ladkaon se ched-chad nahi chalege-nahi chalege", "Deepak rahul ko reha karo-reha karo".
It is to be noted that a chemistry professor of govt. degree college was allegedly harassing the female students of the college. The students had repeatedly reported the issue to the principal but every time the principal suppressed the students. The long build anger of the students resulted in damaging the personal car and laptop of the harassing professor. Resulting in the arrest of college union president Deepak (final year)and PSA college unit president Rahul.
He again said that "It is shameful at the part of the principal that she is instigating the sikh students against the protesting students who are demanding justice, thus creating a communal environment in the college."
Meanwhile, the students of the college today protested in the college and boycotted their classes against the suppression byf the administration and the arrest of their representative. Heavy police have been deputed in and out side the college. It is to be noted that two more protesting students were taken under police custody who were later released.
