| PoK refugee delegation calls on Sushobha Brave | | "Govt doing step-motherly treatment with us" | | Jammu, Dec 15 : A joint deputation of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) refugees of 1947 and various Sikh organizations of J&K under the chairmanship of Rajiv Chuni, Chairman SOS, POK Refugees of 1947 called on Executive Director Central for Dialogue and Reconciliation (CDR), Sushobha Brave here. The delegation expressed concern over the government's failure to solve long pending problems of POK refugees. The deputation informed Bharve that both state and central government are doing "step motherly treatment" with PoK refugees of 1947. They demanded that one time settlement be made and Rs 30 lakhs be sanctioned per refugee family. They said that several times the assurances have been given to refugee families "but nothing has been done so far." They also demanded reservation in government services, bank loans without interest, four seats reserved in the Assembly, reservation in technical colleges besides employment package on the pattern of Kashmir Valley migrants. They requested the CDR Executive Director to raise these demands with Prime Minister as well as Home Minister besides make a visit in refugees localities to see on the spot condition of the POK refugees. Brave assured them that their demands shall be put before the Prime Minister and Home Minister. |
