| Demand of independent J&K from PoK- A dangerous preposition! | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 15: The members of civil society from Pak occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Gilgit Baltistan which for all practical purposes is the part of J&K are playing a dangerous game by advocating for independent Jammu and Kashmir State. The members of the civil society who are the part of Committee for Dialogue and Reconciliation (CDR) and are presently in Jammu to take part in three day conference are playing a dangerous game by advocating for independent J&K through a referendum. Raising emotive issues the members of PoK civil society try to entice some of the refugees from PoK to seek their support in putting forth the demand from Jammu region too. Strongly advocating for a united J&K including the portion which is under the occupation of Pakistan and China some of the civil society members have even blamed India for all the crisis saying the people of this state had nothing to do with problems between the two countries as the people of this border state are peace loving and they have never indulged in any sort of violence. Alleging that the people of undivided J&K became the scapegoats for the rivalries of India and Pakistan the members of civil society strongly advocate for a united and independent J&K. One of the members of the visiting delegation who was the former Chief Justice of PoK High Court was of the opinion that China has agreed to vacate its forces from the portion of J&K occupied by it provided India and Pakistan also removes its forces. Absolving Pakistan he said it was India who was responsible for handing over of the territory of J&K to China and saying India was more responsible for present turmoil and unrest in Sub continent than Pakistan. According to sources knowing fully that people in Kashmir valley will toe their line the civil society of PoK under a calculated move is trying to entice the people especially the refugees from PoK by raising the emotive issue of re-union of divided families and pleading for an independent J&K which will be free of control from Pakistan and India forgetting that who were the people responsible for killing of thousands of Hindus during the fall of Mirpur in 1947 and other areas of Pakistan and PoK. By advocating for independent J&K sources said the PoK civil society wants to create another Muslim state as the new state thus formed will have total Muslim character where the role of Hindus would be that of second class citizens as is evident in Pakistan where minority Hindus are continuously subjected to atrocities and persecution. Sources said such an independent state will not suite the minority Hindus in J&K as what guarantee they have that such a state if formed will not be converted into an Islamic state as 80 percent population of that state will be of Muslims. |
