Verma demands reservation for OBC in BDC elections 12/15/2012 10:10:03 PM EARLY TIMES REPORT Udhampur, Dec 15: The Vice Chairman for the Welfare and Development of Other Backward Classes (OBC) Kuldeep Raj Verma today demanded reservation of the OBC people in the Block Development Council (BDC) elections. "The National Conference and Congress government has taken various developmental works for the OBC people and now there is a need for the reservation of the other backward class people," Kuldeep Raj Verma said, here in a public meeting organized at Udhampur district. He, however, hailed the coalition Government for postponement of the BDC polls while repeating the demand of reservation to the OBC people in the elections as it was given to the woman, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities. Verma said that coalition government has been working for the equal development of all the regions and it has taken various steps for the welfare of the people. He said that the Congress led UPA in centre and in Jammu Kashmir has been working in the interest of the downtrodden people. Earlier, the participants projected their various demands before Verma.
