'Young lawyers group joins PDP' 12/15/2012 10:11:01 PM EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Dec 15 : A group of young lawyers practicing in the state high court Saturday joined opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). A spokesperson of the PDP said the lawyers led by Advocate Sameer Ah Dar called on the party president Mehbooba Mufti and had a detailed interaction with her about the party agenda and its self rule proposal. Deputy speaker legislative Assembly Mohammed Sartaj Madni, senior party leader and MLA Abdul Rehman Veeri and Chief Spokesman of the party Naeem Akhter were present on the occasion. Those who joined the party today included Adv Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, Adv. Qazi Ayaz, Adv. Arjumand Ramzan, Adv Mehrajudin, Adv Parvez Ahmad, Adv Sarafraz Ahmad Rathore, Adv Gowhar and Adv Imran Gojri. The lawyers sought clarification on many issues from the party leadership and felt convinced that PDP represented hope and promise for the people of J&K especially the youth. Mehbooba told the lawyers that PDP provided a progressive platform for all stake holders to realize their talent and work for the development of the state. She said joining PDP by intellectuals and professionals represented a positive trend in state and would help in ridding the state of exploitative and emotional politics that has been practiced for long at an immense cost to successive generations here.
