| Jammu Frontier bags overall trophy in BSF Athletics | | | early times report JAMMU, Dec 15: Securing highest 131 points in various field and track events, hosts Jammu Frontier bagged the overall championship trophy in 35th BSF Inter-Frontier Athletics meet which concluded at BSF Stadium, here yesterday. Second place went to Rajasthan Frontier, who obtained 93 points while Punjab Frontier remained third with 78.5 points in their account. North Bengal (NB) Frontier and Gujarat Frontier finished fourth and fifth in the points tally securing 71 and 58 points respectively. For his all round performance, Ct. Simranjeet Singh of Jammu Frontier was adjudged best athlete of the five-day meet. The athletics meet was declared closed by Inspector General of BSF Jammu, Rajiv Krishna, who was chief guest in the valedictory function. He complimented the athletes from all 13 Frontiers of the Border Security Force. He was all praise for the organizing committee of the host Jammu Frontier for successful conduce of the competition. Earlier, a colourful cultural programme by students of BSF School marked the concluding function of the athletics meet wherein over 800 athletes, including those Olympians, contested for the top honours.
