JAMMU, Dec 16 : Dogra Brahman Pratnidhi Sabha ( DBPS) , Parade, here today organized a function to honor the meritorious students of Brahman community like previous year.
Justice (Retd.) O.P. Sharma of High Court of J&K was the Chief Guest, while P.P Sharma (Retd. Principal Chief Conservator) presided over the function. V.M. Mangotra (Vice-President), Sat Pal Sharma (Cashier), Ved Parkash Sharma (Fromere Presidnet ) alongwith Pawan Kumar Shastri were on the dice. Som Nath Sharma (Retd. Director Agriculture) was the main architect of the function.
The function started with Saraswati Vandana and lightning of Holy Lamp followed with the address by P.P. Sharma, Parshotam Sharma (Advocate) while speaking on the occasion introduced the team of the Sabha who worked hard to make this function a success.
The staff of the Sabha was also commended for their dedicated working. Parshotam Sharma added that despite hurdle s and odds perpetrated by interested persons, the function reached its glorious ends.
Speaking on the occasion it was added that the Sabha is thankful to Madan Lal Sharma (M.P), Sham Lal Sharma (Cabinet Minister) and Ashok Khajuria (MLA Jammu- East) for their active co-operation and financial help in the development of the Sabha.
The Sabha appeal that the above mentioned dignitaries and others should come forward to extend financial and other co-operation to establish student hostels for male students as well as for female students including hostel for working ladies, library, dispensary and accommodation for needy person.
O.P. Sharma (Chief Guest) and P.P.Sharma gave Medals and Certificates of honour to the awardness. Sat Pal Sharma, Gen. Secy. Assisted by Chander Shekhar Sharma compared the stage.
Dr. Som Datt Sharma, Dr. D.R. Baru, Chander Mohan Sharma, alongwith the members of the dal were also present.
The members of the sabha from all over Jammu region also participated. Prominent among the participants were D.N. Pangotra (Adv.), L.K. Sharma (Sdv), Jagan Nath Sharma, Shiv Ram Sharma, Sat Pal Sharma.
