| "Tainted" Cops line-up before their mentors to seek choice postings...? | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 16: With pending departmental inquiries besides number of complaints of corrupt practices against some of the "tainted" senior police officers are learnt to have been in constant touch with their respective political masters to seek choice postings, which may get effected in tomorrow's proposed Cabinet meeting. If highly placed sources are to be believed , "certain tainted police officers were expecting choice/ lucrative postings during the previous cabinet meeting but the agenda of transfers of police officers did not come up in that meeting owing to postponement of Departmental Promotional Com-mittee (DPC)." "There are some police officers who have served in Jammu region in different capacities but during their respective tenures they earned public criticism for their rude behaviour besides some were openly criticized for their corrupt practices," shared sources further adding that, "some police officers are trying to influence political bigwigs claiming that only they (police officers) can ensure law and order viz-a-viz crime free zone as they had proved in the past while solving sensational cases of murders and conspiracies." "In the list of tainted officers who are making rounds of the corridors of power, there are some who had been placed under suspension and still number of litigations are pending against them in the trial courts besides some are publicly being charged for alleged use of power in certain cases where witnesses were harassed and forced to record the statements as per their (police officers) wish," further revealed sources. "Will they manage the choice postings through their political connections or will the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah use his discretion to bring honest and dedicated police officers who does not enjoy any sort of political backing but are known for their working under law?" are some of the queries which may get answer by tomorrow.
