| Sluggish rail development in JK disappoints Soz, takes up issue in RS | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Dec 17 (KNS) : President J&K Pradesh Congress Committee Prof. Saifuddin Soz today expressed disappointment over the sluggish pace of rail development in the state. "The Rail Development in Jammu and Kashmir State is extremely sluggish. The construction of Railway Line between Udhampur and Qazigund (Kashmir) is not keeping pace with the commitment made by the Ministry of Railways for its completion", said Soz while speaking in the Rajya Sabha today . "Within Jammu Province the Railway Line has not moved to Poonch, Rajouri and Doda. The Survey in respect of line between Jammu and Rajouri - Poonch was faulty and no development has taken place. In respect of fact that there is heavy traffic of civilian and military movement, the Railway Ministry is dragging its feet and not undertaking the works", he added. He said that in Kashmir valley, the Railway line has not moved to Uri and Kupwara. "The Ministry has to take urgent measures in this direction", he added. |
