| Another inquiry ordered following complaints by staff | | More trouble for Principal GMC&H | | Sumit Sharma
Jammu, Dec 17: Already facing magisterial probe under 176 CrPC Principal GMC&H Dr Aniece Choudhary is now entangled in another inquiry. The new inquiry against Dr Aniece Choudhary, Principal GMC&H and HoD ENT, started a day after seizure of his private clinic. The inquiry was ordered after Government received number of complaints against him by his subordinates alleging therein that Dr Aniece Choudhary had authorised only himself to conduct bronchoscopic procedures. This has happened because Dr Choudhary has kept all the bronchoscopes in the ENT department under his personal lock and key, in violation of norms. These bronchoscopes were purchased by the money provided by the exchequer and are not the personal property of Dr Aniece Choudhary, complainants alleged, further adding that they are strictly debarred by Dr Choudhary to even touch the instrument. Pertinently, Bronchoscopy is a technique of visualizing the inside of the airways for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. An instrument (bronchoscope) is inserted into the bronchi to pick up the obstruction.
Acting over the allegations, Government ordered inquiry. Commissioner/Secretary Medical Education MK Diwedi when contacted confirmed the reports of inquiry. He said that Financial Advisor and Chief Accounts Officer (FSCO) is asked to conduct an inquiry and submit the reports with in four days for further action.
Meanwhile, a complaint has been filed against Dr Choudhary with the State Vigilance Organization by an NGO requesting investigations into allegations of misappropriation of funds, misuse of official position, illegal pecuniary gains by taking Non Practicing Allowance (NPA) etc.
Dark clouds started hovering over the Dr Choudhary after the death of a minor Doda based girl in SMGS hospital allegedly due to discriminating attitude and money minting purpose. After her death, DDC Jammu ordered inquiry which was to be conducted by ADC. In between Dr Choudhary reportedly to save his skin appoint a two doctor committee for probe. At present two probes are in progress in parallel . |
