| Mess in State owned CVPPP Ltd, tainted officials enjoy prize postings | | Chief Engineer withdraws Rs 32 lakh TE bills in last 7 years | | Asif Iqbal Naik kishtwar, Dec 17: In a brazen loot of Government exchequer, an official of NHPC posted as Chief Engineer has withdraw an amount of Rs. 32 lakhs as Travelling Expenses in last 7 years during his posting in Pakal-Dool Power Project since 2005. The said officer is now enjoying another high rank post in Chenab Valley Power Project Private Ltd. (CVPPP Ltd). Beside him, many top ranking officials who played an important role in sabotaging the project are enjoying prestigious postings in this joint venture including those who are facing serious corruption charges and even CBI files charge sheets. An insider informed the "Early Times" that one senior officer who was involved in derailing Dool-Hasti Power project enjoys top post since last 12 years and is said to be burden for the organization since the officer failed to expedite the effective functioning of the project on ground, as a result of which the execution of this prestigious 1000 MW power project got delayed by over 10 years. The official in question was not only involved in looting of Government exchequers for personal benefits, but was also involved in adjusting blue eyed persons having political backgrounds in CVPPP Ltd, for which the recruitment process was completed only few months ago. " With the appointment of these blue eyed persons, the ineffective management is further trying to vandalize the strong base of the organization," the source apprehended. It is pertinent to mention here that it took 27 years for completion of Dool-Hasti Power project and the delay was attributed many to those presently holding top rank posting in CVPPP Ltd. |
