| Dogra Front, Shiv Sena workers protest against infant's death | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 17: The workers of the Dogra Front and Shiv Sena Jammu & Kashmir took out a procession from Jewel chowk to Press Club here against the death of an infant from Doda in the hospital due to the alleged negligence of the head of department of the hospital. The protesters were led by Ashok Gupta. In a telephonic conversation with the concerned minister, he demanded that the accused should be removed from the designation of the acting principle of GMC"so that an unbiased enquiry could be held." He claimed that this was a case of negligence by a senior doctor "who has made a mockery of noble profession and failed to discharge his duties properly." Gupta also demanded an enquiry against Dr Aniece Choudhary, Principal of the Government Medical College, Jammu, for allegedly causing death of an infant brought for treatment from Doda. He alleged that Dr Choudhary kept bronchoscopes, the machines required for carrying out the minor surgical procedure, in his own custody. "No other doctor was allowed to use these machines," Gupta alleged in the statement. He said the Health and Medical Education Department should conduct an inquiry as to whether doctors other than Dr Aniece Choudhary could have conducted the required surgery and saved the life of an innocent child. |
