J&K Bank sharing profits with people appreciable: CM

Srinagar, Dec 17 : In collaboration with J&K Bank, Medanta-The Medicity, India's largest multi super specialty hospital in Gurgaon organized a Two-day 'Free Multi-specialty Check-up Camp' at the University of Jammu.
A team of 15 Super-specialist doctors headed by CMD Medanta Dr Naresh Trehan gave free consultations to the patients on the occasion.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah inaugurated the camp in presence of Bank's Director's R K Gupta, M I Shahdad, Vikrant Kuthiala and J&K President,Jammu Central, O.P Sharma.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister thanked J&K Bank and Medanta for organizing a free super-specialty check-up camp for the people of Jammu, particularly those from rural areas who don't have access to such quality treatment.
Omar Abdullah said, "It is a matter of great satisfaction for all of us that J&K Bank shares a good portion of its profits on various CSR activities in the state and I am sure people will benefit from this camp."
Over 4000 patients were registered for free consultations on the first day.
The Bank arranged a team of 30 doctors for OPD consultations during the camp. A large number of voluntary para-medical staff also assisted the doctors.
Expressing the desire to have a long-term association with the Bank, Dr Trehan said, "Medanta is considering a partnership with J&K Bank to workout possibilities and schemes for providing concessional treatment for patients from economically weaker sections of society in the state."
Particularly for the people who don't have access to super-special treatment and cannot afford to travel to big cities for specialized treatment, he added.
Besides free consultations and free transportation, arrangements were also made for conducting free diagnostic tests like ECG and providing free medicine to the patients.
The bank has made arrangements for free lunch to the patients from far off areas.
Welcoming the chief guest, Dr. Trehan and his team of doctors from Medanta and Jammu as well , Director R K Gupta informed the gathering that the Bank has always remained at forefront of substantial CSR initiatives for the benefit of people of the state. In his welcome address he highlighted the achievements of Government under the regime of CM towards good governance, like PGA, RTI and particularly Panchayti Raj after 34 years.
"We have ensured all possible support to organize this camp so that people particularly from rural areas of Jammu benefit from the expertise of super specialist doctors from one of leading hospitals in the country", he said.
Bank's Director M I Shahdad said that the Bank will consider organizing more such camps in state in its upcoming platinum jubilee celebrations.
The Bank's Director Vikrant Kuthiala presented the vote of thanks.
