| Environment workshop at GGM Science College | | |

Jammu, Dec 21: Two days workshop on the topic "Environmental Education - Global Concerns" by the NSS Unit of the College was inaugurated in GGM Science College. The function was inaugurated by Dr. Satinder Singh, Nodal Principal Jammu Division Colleges. The resource persons of Two days workshop were Dr. C.M Seth, Chairman, WWF J&K Chapter, former Chairman of Pollution Control Board and Chief Conservator of Forests J&K, Prof. Raj Kumar Rampal , HoD, Department of Environmental Sciences , University of Jammu.
Resource Person Dr. C.M Seth gave detailed information about the Millennium Developmental Goals & the targets set by the United Nations which includes the Universalization of Environmental Education by 2020 and the responsibilities of the Govt. in achieving these goals. He also elaborated the difficulties associated with these goals. Prof. Raj Kumar Rampaul made the students aware about the sustainable ideas and the use of available resources keeping in view the need of future generations with the least effect on the environment. Dr. Satinder Singh in his address appreciated the role of NSS Unit in organizing the workshop on this very important issue and sensitizing the students about the topic and hoped that the students will play very important role in protecting our environment. |
