| BJP reorganization on cards in J&K after debacle in Himachal | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 21: Upset by the poll results in Himachal Pradesh the BJP high command plans to initiate measures for revamping its party unit in Jammu and Kashmir. Party sources said that the top BJP leaders were likely to deliberate on the party's organizational strength and weaknesses in Jammu and Kashmir and finalize its strategy on dealing with the seven MLAs who had been thrown out of the party on charge of having indulged in anti-party activities by not voting in favour of the party candidate in the council election last year. Senior leaders within the state are against any revival of link with the seven BJP MLAs whom they allege have forged a nexus with the National Conference. These senior leaders want the party high command to help the party leaders in expanding the party bases in the state, especially in the hilly areas of the Jammu region. They have suggested to the party high command to encourage the current BJP leadership in Jammu to initiate several measures that could strengthen the party base in the state by countering the propaganda being launched by the expelled party MLAs who continue to draw sustenance and support from the NC leadership. |
