| Bovine smuggling bid foiled, 2 held | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Dec 21: Police today arrested two bovine smugglers and rescued four animals which they were carrying in a vehicle from Jammu to Punjab State. In another similar bid the driver of a vehicle managed to flee leaving eleven animals and his truck behind which were seized by the police. Reports said that soon after receiving information about transportation of bovine animals towards Punjab State laid down a naka at Bhambrwan Morh near old Police Station Rajbagh. During naka they intercepted one Bolero -Load carrier (JK-21 7289) and arrested its driver namely Som Nath S/O Gian Chand R/O Nandpur tehsil and district Jammu and his associate namely Kuldeep Raj S/O Baldev Raj R/O Ramgarh Tehsil and District Samba. During the search of the said vehicle police recovered four animals from their possession which were transported from J&K to Punjab illegally. A case FIR No.252/2012 U/S 188 RPC stands registered at P/S Rajbagh against the arrested accused. Meanwhile Police during naka signaled to stop one truck (JK02U - 8488) driven by one Rehmat Ali S/O Shah Mohd R/O Rangoora Bye Pass Jammu, but the said driver did not stopped the truck broke down the barrier and tried to escape. The Police Party after a chase intercepted the truck near Sunjwan Morh however the driver of the truck managed to escape. During search of the vehicle Police recovered 11 Bovine Animals. A case under FIR No.253/2012 U/S 188 RPC 3PCA Act, 3 Public Property Act stands registered at P/S Rajbagh while manhunt has been started to arrest the accused. |
