Delhi gangrape: Protests continue in Jammu

Jammu, Dec 21: Expressing their outrage over Delhi bus gangrape incident and demanding stern action against the culprits, students of various colleges in Jammu today continued protest demonstrations. Carrying placards and shouting slogans for death penalty to the accused, thousands of students of various colleges boycotted their classes this morning and took to the streets paralyzing vehicular movement at various places.
However, no untoward incident was reported from anywhere as the protests remained almost peaceful while tight security arrangements were made outside the educational institutions.
Students of Govt. Women Polytechnic College took out a protest rally from college via canal and entered the GGM Science college under the leadership of Shakshi Sharma.
Students of ITI College boycotted their classes under the leadership of Atul Suddan along with Priya Sharma. Students blocked the highway and marched towards the Science Jewel Chowk the students of ITI College gathered at Shaheedi Sthal and raised slogans against the Delhi Police.
Students of GGM Science College boycotted their classes under the leadership Vikram Singh and Sanjay Sharma. All the students of the college gathered at the main gate and joined the rally of ITI College and Govt. Women Polytechnic College.
Students of the GCW Gandhi Nagar also boycotted their classes and took out the protest rally and joined the students of the Science College, ITI College and Govt. women Polytechnic College.
Addressing the Arushi Sharma said "we feel that the police must be alert to prevent such cases. If such crimes take place in a thickly populated area, so what will happen in isolated areas? We want that this case should be taken very seriously, so that we can curb such acts in the future." She strongly demanded to hang these criminal. Students of the GCW, Parade also continue their protest in the support of the victim under the leadership of Anupama Choudhary, Sonia Troch, Sonal Rajput, Cheery Rajput, Vellia Sharma, Momina Mir, Khusbu Sharma,. Students of college protested in peacefull manner in college premises and they took out a candel march in the College prmises.
Students of Govt. MAM College continue to boycott their college under the leadership of Lucky Singh (President MAM college). All the students marched towards the Vikram Chowk and sat on Dharna. Addressing the students Lucky Singh strongly condemns these shameful acts.
Meanwhile in a meeting with the presidents of the college including Arushi Sharma (president GCW Gandhi Nagar), Anupama Choudhary (president GCW, Parade), Vikram Singh (president GGM Science college), Anil Sharma (president ITI College), Shakshi Sharma, Sanjay Sharma, Sunil Mandla ( President GDC Ploura), Lucky Singh (President MAM College) it was unimously decided that continue protest in the college would led to the suffer the students and hence there will be no college boycott programme from tomorrow on wards. But would continue support the victim in various other modes.
