early times report Jammu, Dec 21: Agitated over the lack of response from Controller of Examination on the issue of non-declaration of results of the Department of Economics, English, History, Sociology, Math, MCA and Med exams which were held eight months back, students of Jammu University (JU) Friday held protests across the campus under the banner of National Secular Forum (NSF). The protesting students led by NSF Chairman Vikram Madhyal raised slogans against the University authorities "for not taking note of their demands and maintaining stoic silence over the entire matter." He claimed that nothing was being done for the welfare of the students and they have being taken for granted. Addressing the protesters Vice-President NSF University Unit Vimal Singh said that in biting cold no arrangements have been made for the students in the examination centers. "University authorities are only concerned for their own comfort and good heating arrangements have been made in their rooms," he claimed. Singh alleged that Vice Chancellor was least concerned about the welfare of the students. Shafqat Malik, Nitin, Rahul Sharma, Kamaldeep Singh, Manu Sharma, Sunil Kumar, Ankit, Abhimanyu, Jagmohan Singh, Sunil Kumar, Sarwan Singh, Ankit Raina and Ashwani were also present on the occasion. |
