JAMMU, Dec 28: DIG Traffic Range Jammu Shakeel Ahmed Beig, convened a meeting with the representatives of Mini buses and auto rickshaw unions today.
It is informed that following are the revised rates of fares for Mini-buses upto 3 Kms, Rs. 4.50, Upto 5 Kms, Rs. 7.50, Upto 10 Kms, Rs. 9, Upto 15 Kms, Rs. 10, Upto 20 Kms, Rs. 13 and beyond 20 Kms., Rs. 16. In case of autorikshaws the new rates fixed for 1st Km is Rs. 16 and for subsequent Km it is Rs. 12. All the Matadors/Mini-Bus representatives were directed to keep 9 seats (01-09) exclusively for the ladies and in case of Buses 12 seats (01-12) should be reserved for the ladies as per the prescribed orders. Furthermore, they were directed to ensure that all the drivers of passenger vehicles will wear uniform from 01.01.2013 or else strict action under law will be taken against the violators.
