| Militant hideout busted, arms, ammunition recovered in Kashmir | | | early times report
Srinagar, Jan 12: Security forces busted a hideout and recovered arms and ammunition, including RPG and UBGL launchers, in north Kashmir district of Baramulla, where a sarpanch was shot dead by gunmen yesterday afternoon. A police spokes-man said here this afternoon that 32 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and police launched a joint operation at Chatoosa, Sopore, woods following a tip-off about the militant hideout. After long search in the woods, security forces unearthed the hideout and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition, including one AK 47 short barrel Rifle, three AK-47 magazines, 96 AK 47 rounds, one RPG launcher and two UBGL launcher. However, no one was arrested, they said. |
