| "NC always played with sentiments of people" | | | Srinagar, Jan 12: Accusing National Conference of befooling people of J&K for the last sixty years, General Secretary of Youth wing of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Engineer Nazir Ahmad Yatoo today alleged that the NC leaders have always played with the sentiments of the people by raising emotional slogans like " Raishumari ." Reacting to the recent statement of NC General Secretary Sheikh Nazir Ahmad wherein he demanded holding plebiscite in J&K, Yatoo castigated him for raising this slogan "to gain political mileage as the assembly elections are closer." "The NC passed autonomy resolution with absolute majority when it had 64 members in state assembly in 1997 and that resolution was thrown into the dustbin by then NDA government in the center. Still NC continued to rule J&K and didn't step down on moral grounds and now the same government which has failed on all fronts of governance and human rights in J&K raises slogan of Raishumari or the Pelebisite," he said, Accusing Congress of raising the slogan of granting state subject to 1947 refugees settled in Jammu the PDP Youth leader criticized Congress for raising "emotional slogan and the matter of concern is that NC is not reacting to this slogan nor has Congress reacted to the statement of Sheikh Nazir Ahmad about holding plebiscite in J&K."
"It seems that both NC and Congress have reached to some agreement of befooling the people of J&K," he said. |
