| NC has strong secular, democratic credentials: Rana | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 12 : Political Advisor to the Chief Minister Devender Singh Rana said that history of the state is testimony to the strong secular-democratic credentials of J&K National Conference and the sacrifices it has made to uphold the cause of communal harmony, brotherhood and amity are glaring. He said J&K National Conference has always stood for the high principles of secularism, brotherhood and democracy and shall continue to do so in future as well. He said equitable development of all sections of the society has remained the benchmark of National Conference since its inception and the present coalition government under the leadership of Omar Abdullah continues to work towards that objective. Rana who was addressing a public meeting at Ghorda in Block Bhalwal here said that National Conference represents aspirations of common people and its selfless service to public has always been above any consideration of creed, caste, colour, region or religion. He said National Conference is a party of common masses the roots of which are spread across the state and no one can damage its popular base. "The detractors of democratic process have always tried to damage and defame National Conference but utterly failed in their nefarious designs as the people of the state always stood with the National Conference showing their utmost trust and faith in the party and its leadership and foiled all such attempts of the propagandist elements", said Rana. He said National Conference is committed for a peaceful, progressive and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir enshrined in 'Naya Kashmir' and the state NC-Congress coalition government under the visionary leadership of Omar Abdullah is working in this direction. Rana said that empowerment of common people and involving them in the development process from bottom to top level is the political objective of National Conference. Dr. Bashir Ahmad Veeri, MLC while addressing the gathering said that J&K National Conference has always stood for the high principals of secularism, brotherhood, democracy and equitable development of all sections of the society. |
