| Jammu migrants need special attention: Sangni | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 14: A MP based NGO Sangani distributed relief material including blankets and woolen clothes to the hundred families of Jammu migrants at Mubarak Mandi, where these migrants have established a camp and are protesting for justice for last eight years. Relief material was distributed under the supervision of Chairman Sangani group Mamta Sangatay and another senior member Ishwer Sharma. Speaking on occasion, Mamta said it very unfortunate the Jammu migrants are being ignored and nobody is taking note of their problems. She said both union government as well as the state government should immediately draft a policy and the proper security arrangements for these migrants so that they may return to their native areas from where they were forced to migrate by the terrorists. She also appealed the social groups to help these migrants as their condition in camps is deteriorating day by day and special attention should be given for the study of migrant children. Speaking on the occasion social activists Ravinder Raina said inspite of the ruling given by the Supreme Court of India to give relief to Jammu migrants at par with Kashmir migrants our government did nothing in this regard. He said on one hand government has policies for all those who went across the border and picked guns against the nation but the patriotic citizens in the state are being ignored by the successive governments. Migrants leaders Som Raj, Rakesh Sharma and Som Nath thanked the members of Sangani group for providing blankets and the woolen clothes to the migrant families during the severe winter. Relief material largely distributed to the migrant families particularly from Tikri, Bellicharana, and Nagrota area. |
