Dichotomy, thy name is NC
Kamaal ka Kamaal

Bashir Assad
Jammu, Jan 14: While launching a scathing attack on New Delhi, Additional General secretary National Conference Dr. Mustafa Kamaal Monday, advised it (Delhi) to shun the rigidity and stop beating about the bush.
Talking to Early Times, Dr. Kamaal said, "it is New Delhi's intransigency that has landed Jammu and Kashmir from one crisis to another mostly of political nature and the last one was armed insurgency." Kam-aal said that the conditional instrument of accession of late Maharaja Hari Singh has to be restored in its original form. The firebrand NC leader said that late Shiekh Mahammad Abdullah cannot be made a scapegoat for the blunders of New Delhi as some vested interests in Delhi and Srinagar are trying to change history in their favour over Jammu and Kashmir.
When his attention was drawn towards the dichotomy persisting in Abdullah family particularly in the backdrop of repeated statements attributed to NC patron Dr. Farooq Abdullah and his son Omar Abdullah wherein the son and father duo have been praising New Delhi when in power, Dr. Kamaal said that NC has a stand based on historical facts.
When insisted to comment on why Sheikh Nazir and he on one side and Dr. Farooq and Omar on the other side are publicly pulling apart on certain issues particularly over relationship with Congress and the issue of autonomy, Kamaal said that there was no dichotomy and added,"You have to give them (Dr. Farooq and Omar) the allowances of being ministers in New Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir". On wasn't it dichotomy that two members of the family who are not members of the first family reverberating something and the two minister members of the family talking diametrically opposite to what the formers say, Kamaal, said they (Farooq & Omar) have said what we (Kamaal and Nazir) have been saying but not in so many words because of their limitations being in office.
When told whether he and aging Sheikh Nazir were masquerading to be carrying ideological brief of NC with having tacit understanding with Farooq and Omar, Kamaal while avoiding any direct reply to the question said that NC will not wait till doomsday for the problem of
J&K to be solved and instead work up an arrangement with New Delhi under the instrument of accession.
When again his attention was drawn towards some explanations being offered to his and Sheikh Nazir's controversial statements by political commentators especially the one were it is being said that since elections to the state legislature are drawing closer and it was the old trump card of NC to talk against New Delhi for partisan interests and electoral gains, Kamaal said, "I am sure J&K would have continued to languish in extreme poverty and serfdom, had NC not choose to develop cordial relationship with New Delhi. On why then he was indulging in New Delhi bashing when his party was still sharing power with Congress both at Srinagar/Jammu and New Delhi, Kamaal said that Congress has ditched them on all crucial junctures of history".
