With 'cards closed', all set for cabinet expansion today

early times report
Jammu, Jan 14: Even as speculations are rife about the names of new ministers to be inducted or dropped in the reshuffle\expansion of state cabinet scheduled tomorrow, both the alliance partners NC and Congress have kept cards closed to their chest, pushing all in a guessing game. While the council of sitting ministers belonging to NC submitted their resignation to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today, Congress ministers have not done so far nor were they asked by the leadership to do so. All is, however, set for the major political exercise in the coalition, with oath ceremony scheduled at Raj Bhawan at 4PM.
It was a day filled with speculations in all political circles including the corridors of power about the possible names of new ministers being inducted by both the parties as also about incumbent ones being dropped. Gossips and guessing game was also seen even among the sitting ministers , who sat in huddles, at residences to discuss the possible moves to be seen tomorrow. Interestingly, almost all the ministers stayed away from their offices in Civil Secretariat today, which made the scene in the corridors of power look uneasy .
Sources said Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and Mohan Prakash, J&K incharge of Congress are arriving tomorrow to attend the swearing in ceremony of new ministers. While no clear picture emerged from NC as to those to be inducted in council of ministers , Congress too did not open its cards till late in the evening. "Both the parties have 'identified' the people who will take oath tomorrow …", JKPCC chief Prof Soz said cryptically while responding to media queries related to reshuffle.
