| GMC inquiry reports: To reveal or to conceal? | | | early time report Jammu, Jan 14: Many an inquiries ordered into various complaints in the Government Medical College Hospital from time have been forgotten and forgone, denying justice to the complainants and sweeping the wrongs under the carpet. "Following the anger of kin of one deceased Balwant Sharma on September 2, 2012, the hospital authorities ordered fact finding report and assured them that report would be tabled within two days and guilty would be fixed. but 133 days later, the fact fining inquiry report over the death of deceased Balwant Sharma is still awaited" sources said. Though, same day two more inquiries were ordered including the death of Balwant Sharma and theft case at GMC in which 22 microscopes were stolen and two more inquiries over the transfers of sanitation supervisor and sanitation inspector were also ordered but the reports of the same are still awaited. They further said that inquiries are being used as shield to hide own callousness by the authorities. The relatives of deceased Balwant Sharma had alleged Balwant had died due to the callousness of the doctors at the GMCH. Jasmeet Singh, a friend of deceased said that the authorities have been harassing them since they were approaching them for the elusive report. "I have met with Principal, GMCH many times, since the inquiry was ordered, but he is ignoring, even he is refusing to meet me or any other family member of victim" he said. When contacted to Officiating Principal, GMCH, Dr Aniece Choudhary to know the status of enquiry report, he refused to comment on it. |
