| Bail denied to accused husband | | Abetment of suicide case | |
Jammu, Jan 14 (JNF): Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu SR Gandhi has rejected the bail application of one Mohd Qayoom r/o Village Palli Block Dansal Tehsil Jhajjar Kotli who was arrested by the police for abetting his wife to commit suicide after he solemnized second marriage. According to the police case the accused was arrested u/s 306 RPC, on November 19, 2012 after dead body of Shamim Bibi was found hanging from tree at village Pali. During the enquiry mother of deceased namely Shamshad Bibi deposed that her daughter shamim Bibi was married to Mohd Qayoom in the year 2011. The accused developed relation with some other woman which was not tolerated by the deceased. The accused even conducted second marriage with the lady namely Rozina. Being fed-up with the ill-treatment meted out to her by husband to the deceased, Shamim Bibi committed suicide by hanging. CJM Jammu SR Gandhi while rejecting the bail application of accused observed that it is a case in which a young woman ended her life as her husband/accused contracted second marriage against her consent. The material so far collected by the police pin-points the involvement of accused for the commission of serious offence u/s 306 RPC. Keeping in view the seriousness of the matter, the case needs to be dealt with sternly. |
