| AD, TSO CAPD among 10 fixed in Udhampur Kerosene scam | | | Jammu, Jan 14 (JNF): Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Puneet Gupta has framed corruption charges against Tarsem Raj then Assistant Director CAPD Udhampur, Bansi Lal then Tehsil Supply Officer Udhampur, Sham Singh dealer, Parkash Singh dealer, Mangat Ram dealer, Ajay Kumar unauthorized dealer, Sudesh Kumar unauthorized dealer, Madan Singh unauthorized dealer, Tej Ram unauthorized dealer, Yog Raj unauthorized dealer, Tarun Kumar dealer and Janak Raj unauthorized dealer in misappropriation of 49800 ltr kerosene oil in District Udhmapur. According to the case during investigation reveals that distribution of kerosene oil at Tehsil Level should have been done through concerned TSO of each Tehsil, but in the present case during the month October, 2008, the allocation of entire quote to the dealers has been made by the then Assistant Director CAPD Udhampur TR Padha himself by passing the jurisdiction of TSOs. It has been alleged that the dealers are allegedly indulging in illegal trade of kerosene oil which is supplied by the CAPD dept to dealers for issuance to the civilians for domestic purpose and this trade is going on along with Jammu-Srinagar National High way 1-A. The kerosene oil is being sold in bulk to the truck drivers for obtaining monetary benefits. Crime Branch team raided the dealers and sealed the said kerosene oil and got disposed of through the District collector of Jammu and Udhampur as per the provisions of Essential Commodities Act and sale proceedings amounting 4, 38, 150/- and registered a case against Assistant Director CAPD Udhampur Tarsem Raj Padha, Sham Singh, Parkash Singh, Mangat Ram, Ajay Kumar, Sudesh Kumar, Madan Singh, Tej Ram, Yog Raj, Tarun Kumar and Janak Raj all are dealers u/s 5 (2) PC Act 2006 r/w section 3/7/8 EC Act, 409, 406 and 120-B RPC. |
