Young Panthers, NPSU hold protest against new recruitment policy

JAMMU, Jan 14: Students of GGM Science College, GDC Paloura, SPMR College of Commerce, MAM College, GDC Kathua, GDC Billawar, GDC Ramnagar, GDC Udhampur, GDC Akhnoor, GDC Rajouri, ITI Jammu and Govt. Polytechnic, Bikram Chowk boycotted their classes in support of boycott call given by Young Panthers and National Panthers Students Union (NPSU) against new recruitment policy.
Students of GGM Science College boycotted their classes under the leadership of Vikram Singh, Ashraf and Sanjay Sharma. After boycotting their classes they marched towards Shaheedi Sthal at main gate of College in the shape of rally where they held massive protest demonstration against the state government for implementing new recruitment policy. The students were not allowed to go out of the college as there was heavy deployment of police cops who closed the main gate of the college forcibly.
Ding dong battle between cops and students continued for sometime, however, the students could not go out of the college premises. They held strong protest demonstration within the college premises and shouted slogans against the state government.
Addressing the gathering, Vikram Singh said that the student community is ready to fight against the new recruitment policy and have decided to fight against the said policy till its logical conclusion.
Students of SPMR College of Commerce boycotted their classes under the leadership of Raghav Talwar (General Secretary Student Council, SPMR College). They too after boycotting their classes tried to move out of the college in the shape of rally but could not go out because of police deployment. The angry students burnt the effigy of Chief Minister under whose directions new recruitment policy has been implemented.
Students of ITI Jammu boycotted their classes under the leadership of Atul Soodan and Sonu Singh who after boycotting their classes held strong protest demonstration at the main gate of the college. While speaking on the occasion, Atul said that the time has come for the student community to get united and fight against the said policy which is totally anti-student and anti-youth.
Students of GDC Akhnoor boycotted their classes under the leadership of Avinash Vassen and Avinash Sharma who after boycotting the classes blocked the road outside the college for more than an hour.
Students of GDC Billawar boycotted their classes under the leadership of Arun Dev Singh and Anoop Singh, classes of GDC Ramnagar were boycotted under the leadership of PAwan Dev Singh (Provincial
President, Young Panthers and Amandeep Singh, classes of GDC Udhampur were boycotted under the leadership of Sagar Singh, classes of GDC Rajouri were boycotted under the leadership of Shakeel Xaka, MAM College was boycotted under the leadership of Ankur Angral and Govt. Polytechnic Jammu was boycotted under the leadership of Manmeet Singh Chahal and Bob Morley.
Pushvinder Manhas (Sr. Vice-President, Young Panthers) lambasted the state government for implementing new recruitment policy which is totally unconstitutional, anti-youth and illegal and said that the youth of the state will not at all accept the said policy and fight tooth and nail against the said policy.
He also appealed the Chief Patron of JKNPP to come forward and get this policy stayed in Supreme Court and challenge its legality there.
