| Sports essential for over all development of individual: Viqar | | | early times report
JAMMU, Feb 1: Maintaining that Sports is essential for overall development of an individual, the Minister of State for Technical Education, Information Mr. Viqar Rasool has said that the government is also doing its bit by sporting sports activities in a big way by upgradating the infrastructure needed and holding of national and international championship.
The Minister was speaking at an inaugural function of 9th 3day Jammu and Kashmir Wushu championship held at Indoor Stadium here today. About 675 participants from 18 districts of the state are participating in the championship.
IG Jammu, Mr. Dilbagh Singh, Director SSG, Mr. H. K. Lohia and several other prominent sports personalities were present on the occasion.
Viqar said that sports person from different rural and far-flung areas have also come to participate in the event which the healthy sign and indicate the popularity of the game in the state. He said that these types of championships also provide much needed fora for a youngster of these areas to showcase their talents.
