Home Ministry asks JK Govt to secure life of separatists
Against national interest?

Rustam
JAMMU, Feb 1: The Congress-dominated "secular" and "liberal" UPA Government is interested more in securing the life of Kashmiri separatists at the cost of the State against which they have been fighting since decades than booking them under charge of sedition and bringing them to justice so that the country is secured. How else should one interpret the Union Home Ministry's direction to the Jammu and Kashmir Government to "review in detail" the security of separatist leaders in Kashmir? It is the Kashmiri separatists and their mentor, Pakistan, who have made the life of common people in the State in general and Kashmir valley in particular as well as in other parts of the country highly insecure, as they target them at a place and time of their choosing. But Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, who like AICC vice-president and number two in the Congress party Rahul Gandhi, expresses the view that the real danger to India is from "Hindu terror" and organizations like the BJP and the RSS, which hold training camps where "Hindu terror" is produced and that it is the Hindu terror that poses a grave danger not only to the minority community but also the country. Recall what Shinde told the AICC at Jaipur on January 20.
It needs to be noted that almost all the Kashmiri separatists, who have been pouring venom on India, attacking and subverting the institution of India State with a view to causing another communal partition of India and speaking on behalf of Pakistan, have already been provided with security cover, some of them, including APHC-M chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, with Z-security as early as in 2004 after they were induced by New Delhi to talk to it to resolve the "Kashmir problem" which Congress and Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru themselves created to prove their "secular" credentials. The Home Ministry not only wants to further secure them by strengthening their security cover, but it also wants the State Government to provide security "who have denied" the security offer so far. "A directive has been sent to the J&K Home Department in this respect. We have told them to take a detailed review of security of separatist leaders in the Valley," a top MHA official was, according to a report, quoted as saying. "They (Home Ministry officials) are hopeful that the security review would be taken in minimum possible time. The J&K Government is having its own mechanism of reviewing the security of important persons. We too will share our inputs," the official was also quoted as saying. "Every person is guarded on the threat perception assessment. The Government will assess that. In case, and if necessary, more security personnel would be deployed as static guards to the (separatist) leaders," he, in addition, said.
Not only this, the said official also reportedly said: (They (Home Ministry officials) were yet to decide whether paramilitary forces would be deployed for security of separatist leaders or not. For that matter, a leader has to give in writing that he/she feels insecure and needs the paramilitary security cover. We have to protect the protected persons. This is a part of policy and nothing else. There are some separatist leaders in J&K who have denied the security cover so far. We will make a fresh offer to them and in case they accept it, adequate security cover would be provided to them".
All this only shows that the Government of India, which has shown scant regard for the martyrs, as for example, Lance Naik Hem Raj, who was beheaded by the Pakistani barbarians on January 8 and whose head was taken away by them, is treating the Kashmiri separatists in the same way as Islamabad has been treating Lashkar chief Hafiz Saeed and similar other Pakistani terrorists, who have been threatening "jihad" against India and causing such terror attacks in India as the 13/12 Parliament, 26/11 Mumbai and 8/I Mendhar attacks. The Indian State perhaps is the only State in the world which has been treating separatists and terrorists with kid-gloves, instead of bringing them to justice. It's no wonder then that the Kashmiri separatists are feeling more and more emboldened with each passing day.
What is it that the Congress-led UPA Government has been doing in Jammu and Kashmir? Is it preparing the ground for another communal partition of India? It was its belief in communal ideology that led to the country's partition in 1947; it was its belief in communal ideology which inspired it confer special status on the State on the ground that it was a Muslim-majority region; and not content with this, it continues to behave in a fashion that only helps Kashmiri separatists achieve their most cherished goal in stages. When will Congress, which is being described by many in India as the "mother of all ills afflicting the Indian nation and the Indian State", change and reform itself?
