| BJP blames Govt for plight of IB residents | | |
KATHUA, Feb 1: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Hiranagar organized a programme under the chairmanship of senior party leader Thakur Ranjeet Singh at Hiranagar to celebrate the elevation of youth leader Rajeev Jasrotia as State General Secretary. While addressing the programme, Thakur Ranjeet Singh extended his warm wishes to young state general and appreciated BJP state unit president Jugal Kishore for giving the space to young leadership in the party with a motive to strengthen party across the state. On the occasion, he also lambasted all the Congress led union governments as well as state governments which ruled since 1947 to put the residents of International Border (IB) from Pharpur to Akhnoor into a pitiable condition. The union government has snatched thousands of acres of land from the residents putting up along IB area without providing them compensation while the 90% residents are farmers they have no other source of income except land. He demanded to provide the benefits of RBA categories to the people of IB, compensation to the people of the IB, appointment of consultation authority for monitoring the works executed for development of people of the IB by some senior civil officers and issuance of Dogra certificate. |
