EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 2 : On the occasion of 3rd death anniversary of Late Kamla Devi, the founder of Verma High School Hakkal, a seminar on the issue of declining female to male ratio was organized under the chairmanship of Chairman JK Democratic Front Anil Gupta here today. Principal of the School Sain Dass Verma threw light on the issue and disclosed that females in India are worshiped, but they face, what we call gender discrimination. Anadita Verma of 9th class said if we look behind and review the history of India, women have not been treated equally and with due honour. Rajni Bala, Neha Devi, Kajal Devi all students of 10th participated among others. They said that prior to freedom, Indian women were not given equal status with man. Madhu Verma said, "Today, most dangerous and heinous crime against women is Female Feticide. She is not allowed to born. She is being killed before her birth. We cannot claim to be wise and civilized. We are destroying our foundation, origin and source". |
