Jammu, Feb 2 : The ongoing disturbance in Sidra area where the 2nd day of the SaMaPa Aalap Festival 2013 was to be held didn't stop SaMaPa from organizing the concert.
While the institute authorities and SaMaPa, keeping in mind the security of the children, deferred the concert by a few days, but Santoor Maestro & Music Composer and Secretary SaMaPa, Abhay Rustum Sopori decided to have a small Bhaitak concert instead and not give a gap in the festival mood.
The 2nd day of the festival featured Santoor recital by Abhay Sopori in a bhaitak concert at Namdhari Dharamshala. He was accompanied on Tabla by Pt. Mithilesh Jha from Delhi. The concert was attended by eminent musicologist and senior music critics of the country like Pandit Vijay Shankar Mishra and Pandit Ravindra Misra, Musicians Ragini Rainu, Charan Singh, Ojesh Pratap Singh, Damodar Lal Ghose, Sachin Sharma, Abid Hussain and many other music connoisseurs. SaMaPa Aalap Festival 2013 on Sunday, the 3rd of February will feature Vocal recital by Ojesh Pratap Singh at Ved Mandir Balika Niketan, Amphalla at 10:00 am and Flute recital by Ajay Prasanna at SOS Home, Channi at 5:00 pm.
