JAMMU, Feb 2:Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture Raman Bhalla has said that State Government endeavors to eradicate illiteracy from every nook and corner of the state by opening and upgrading scores of schools besides equipping the Government educational institutions with better infrastructure and qualified staff. This was stated by the Minister while addressing a large gathering after laying foundation stone for additional accommodation block in newly upgraded Government High School, Qasim Nagar under Rashtriya Madhyamic Shiksha Abhiyan (RAMSA), here today. Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation Kuldeep Lal Khajuria besides other senior officers of School Education, Public Health Engineering, Power Development Department, Roads and Buildings and Urban Environmental Engineering Department accompanied the Minister. Bhalla asked the executing agency to complete the project within three months by constructing additional rooms, office room, toilet block, computer and laboratory room so that the classes for next session students batches could be started there. He said Government is making all efforts to reach out to every part of the State by opening new schools within one-kilometer distance and introducing several educational programmes to cover all children.
