| Youth Congress extends its support to protesting Leighton workers | | |

Jammu, Feb 2: Condemning atrocities against workers of Leighton Company by allegedly hired goons of the Company Youth Congress further had extended its full support to the workers on strike against denial to their rights.
Condemning the dictatorial approach towards its employees, the State President Shahnawaz Choudhary, Pranav Shagotra State Vice President Youth Congress and Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha President Pankaj Basotra alleged that there is a nexus between the officials of the company and some anti social elements from the outside the area and with the support of these anti social elements the officials of the company always tried to harass the workers of the company and always tried their best to crush the genuine rights of the workers.
The Youth Congress Leaders said that the demands of the workers like increase in
their wages, providing compensation to the injured workers while working on the project which are very much genuine.
They further alleged that even the local authority and police also ignored the demands of the workers and even never bothered to lodge the FIR whenever the poor workers came to the police.
The Youth Congress leaders also alleged that the Officials of the Company has hired some anti social elements as their agents who are providing the workers from outside the state and their blue eyed persons ignoring the local skilled and unskilled youth. |
