DDC flags off OP Sadbhawna tour for girls

KISHTWAR, Feb 2: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar Saleem Mohammad Chowdhary today flagged off the Operation Sadbhawna tour for girl students in presence of Commandant 9 Sector RR Kishtwar Brigadier Hatish Kholi, Commander 17 RR Col. R S Lehal and Additional SP Kishtwar Kulbir Singh.
While talking to the media persons on the sideline of the event, Commandant 9 Sector RR Kishtwar said that an educational-cum-motivational tour named as "Firdous-e-Watan" was organized by Headquarter Counter Insurgency Force (Delta) in collaboration with 17 RR under the aegis of Headquarter 9 sector RR for girl students of various schools hailing from insurgency affected areas of Kishtwar District.
A total of 30 students will visit Jammu, Chandigarh, Kapurthala and Amritsar. He said that the aim and objective of organizing this tour is to boost educational skills among the girl students so that they can compete with the men in every sphere.
He said that during the 10 days visit, these girl students will visit Rock Garden, Rose Garden, Sukhna Lake, Dool Museum, Pinjore Garden, and Punjab University at Chandigarh, beside they will also visit Golden Temple, Jalianwala Bagh, Guru Nanak Dev University and Wagha Border at Amritsar, Science City at Kapurthala and Bagh-e-Bahu, Aquarium and Hari Niwas Palace at Jammu. During his interaction with the girl students, Kholi asked them to spread the message of peace and communal harmony, beside witness the rapid development being made by the nation in the field of Information Technology, Education, Infrastructure, Medical Science and other allied sectors since independence. Two female teachers, one army lady officer of Major rank and other helping staff from army will accompany these girl students during her 10 days tour. "I am very happy I have never went outside Jammu and I am thankful to army as it provided me the chance to step out of my home for the first time," said Humara Fatima Giri, student of 12th class.
