Hiranagar, Feb 2 : Member Legislative Council (MLC) Subash Chander Gupta today started the work of construction of road from KV School Hiranagar to Peer Baba here today.
Addressing gathering on the occasion Gupta said that better road connectivity would lead to socio-economic up-liftment of people in the area. "The locals were demanding construction of said road for a long, work on same has begun and would be completed within time frame" he said.
He said that the locals have been organizing Bhandara every year at Peer Baba and thousands of pilgrims came here to pay their obeisance and join Bhandara. Completion of road will facilitate more pilgrims.
He asks the officials to ensure timely completion of work and judicious expenditure of funds earmarked for it. Meanwhile, he also inspected progress of work of Nallah, which was under construction at ward number 6 of Hiranagar town.
He was accompanied by Bishan Singh Jasrotia, Avtar Singh Jasrotia, Nagar Mal, Kaku Ram, Ajay Kumar, Davinder Singh, Master Attar Singh, Yash Pal Mintu, Jagdev Singh, Som Nath, Jugal Bali and others. |
