Early Times Report Doda, Feb 2 : The members of the Civil Society (CS) here today sat on dharna protesting against Health Department, at Old Bus Stand Doda. CS has blamed the Health Department for not providing adequate Doctors and staff to the District Hospital. "Hospital staff from Doctors, surgeons to paramedical staff remains off from their duties for age long period and nobody care about it" they alleged. Members of civil Society including Shahab-ul-Haq, Ishtiaq Dev, Mukesh Parihar, carried out a protest march from old bus stand to Nehru Chowk and bank to the site of dharna in which hundreds of peoples participated and raises slogans in terms of their demands. Addressing the gathering Ishtiaq Ahmed Dev & Ghulam Hassan Pampori said that the CT Scan machine had been approved for both Kathua and Doda district about 6 years ago but Ironically the Distt hospital Kathua is has been using CT Scan and providing vital services to the patients but poor patients here in Doda are still waiting for the said machine to be installed here. They claimed that there were scores of cases when delivery cases of pregnant ladies are referred to Jammu due to absence of Gynecologist who often remains off duty. "The lakhs of rupees for Bio medical waste plant which had been installed in the premises of the Hospital is serving for nothing. Still people are compelled to throw wastes in open" they added. However, Deputy Commissioner Doda, Farooq Ahmed Khan visited on the spot and assured the peoples that the necessary action will be taken. |
