KATHUA, Feb 2: The RCC Tawala and India Pride won their respective matches on the inaugural day of the Kathua Premier Twenty20 League Season Ist, organised by senior and junior cricketers of the Kathua Stadium, here today. In the first match of the day, RCC Tawala defeated Bar Association Kathua by five wickets. Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, Bar Association set a target of 167 runs for the loss of seven wickets, which, in reply, RCC chased in 19 overs for the loss of five wickets. Narain remained top scorer from Bar Association with 59 runs while Vikas contributed 37. From RCC, Sumit, Hari Om and Goldy took two wickets each. Later, RCC Tawala attained the goal making 167 runs for the loss of five wickets in 19 overs. Deesha and Sonu remained highest run getters with 42 and 34 runs in their respective accounts. Atul was most successful bowler from Bar Association with two wickets while Pardeep bagged one. Meanwhile, in another match of the day, India Pride XI registered a big 77 runs win over Young Hearts XI. Batting first, India Pride made 131 runs for the loss of nine wickets. In reply, Young Hearts bowled out for 54 runs. Earlier, the tournament was declared open by Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Kathua, Charanjit Singh Jasrotia, who was chief guest.
