Winning start by J&K in Santosh Trophy
2/2/2013 11:01:04 PM

JAMMU, Feb 2: Jammu and Kashmir made a winning start after they registered a 3-1 win over Rajasthan in the opening league match of the 67th National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy at Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.
J&K dominated the game throughout keeping the ball most of the time. Sheikh Rizwan, Yasin Rashid and Javed Ahmed were the scorers from J&K. The winning margin would have been on higher side had Javed not missed the penalty kick.
"Now, in the next league tie, J&K shall be playing against Assam on February four at 2.30 pm. The fourth team in the group, Andaman and Nicobar could not report, so J&K have the chances of making it to the knock out stages," team coach, Sat Pal Singh told SAN on telephone.
The team is being accompanied by Zahoor Teli and Karan Nayyar as manager and physio respectively.
