early times report JAMMU, Feb 2: Hiking Club of St. Stephen's College, New Delhi shall be organizing the 8th St. Stephen's Open Sport Climbing Competition from February eight to February 10. The three-day competition shall be conducted for both male and female climbers in the junior (under-16 years) and open category (all ages) at the 11-eter high and five-meter wide fiber glass climbing wall in the college premises. "The competition is unique in a way that every climber in the junior category has to compete both in Lead and Speed climbing in all the rounds of the competition and the winner is declared on the basis of overall performance of a climber in all the rounds of both types of competition," informed general secretary of the J&K Mountaineering Association, Ram Khajuria. However, participants in the open category shall have the choice of competing either in Lead or Speed or both types of competition, headded. This competition has been a great success as many international climbers of the country have participated in the six earlier editions of the competition. The registration fee for the junior categories is Rs.100 whereas for the open group, the fee shall be Rs.200 for Lead or Speed climbing and Rs. 300 for participation in both types of competition. Boarding and lodging for the outstation participants can also be provided by the organizers in the college premises at the rate of Rs.300 per day.
