JAMMU, Feb 8 : A Musical concert was presented at Gandhi Memorial College of Education (GMCE), Raipur Bantalab, Jammu by Sopori Academy of Music and Performing Art (SaMaPa), as a part of Sa Ma Pa Aalap Festivel,2013 of classical, Sufi and folk music. Prof G Mustafa Shah, (Dean Colleges Development Council University of Kashmir) was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Speaking on the occasion, President HESK Anil Dhar said that Jammu and Kashmir has a rich cultural heritage and such efforts, as that of Sa Ma Pa would remind the youth of the glorious ethos. Observing that J&K was blessed with tremendous talent in different fields of art and culture, and, the State has produced artists of great repute, who have achieved success at national and international level. Prof G Mustafa Shah (DCDC University of Kashmir) appreciated the efforts of Sa Ma Pa group for promoting classical and folk music in the state. The music Festival started with a soulful sufi vocal recital by young sufi diva Ms Ragini Rainu, after that renowned classical singer ustad Iqbal ahmad khan gave his performance followed by Pt.Santosh Nahar a famous violinist. |
