| Ensure safety of children during transportation : Dycm to school authorities | | | early times report
JAMMU, Feb 8: Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand has expressed grief and sorrow over the death of a student in yesterday's tragic accident in the premises of Delhi Public at Shaheedi Chowk, Jammu. The Deputy Chief Minister, who holds the Education portfolio, termed the incident as tragic and unfortunate. He said every member of the society is grieved over the death of a budding bloom in such a manner and shares the grief of the family members of the deceased. Tara Chand conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the parents of the student and prayed for courage to them to bear this loss. Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief Minister directed the managements of all private to ensure the safety of the students in the premises of the institutions and also during their transportation from home to school and vice-versa in the school buses. He asked the management of the schools to depute alert and efficient staff with the buses ferrying the students to avoid such tragedies in the future. He also directed the school authorities to convey the timings of their respective institutions to the traffic police so that the movement of the traffic in these areas was accordingly regulated. Tara Chand has also asked the Traffic Department and Traffic Police to ensure proper traffic regulation during the peak hours - the timing of opening and closing of schools. He has also directed the School Education Department to ensure compliance of these institutions besides providing the required facilitation in this regard. |
