Kathua, Feb 8: A large n umber of auto drivers under the banner of Auto Drivers Union today lodged a massive protest against the policeman for alleged manhandling of auto Driver Gagan at Shaheedhi Chowk at Kathua.
Amid sloganeering against police, the protesting drivers demanded a strong legal action against the guilty police man deployed at Shaheedhi Chowk. They blocked the road leading to Kathua from Shaheedhi Chowk for some time. Later Dy SP S Daljeet Singh came to the spot and pacified the protestors by assuring due action against the erring cop. It was his intervention then the protestors lifted the blockades and normal traffic is resumed. |
