| Ensure use of standard material, strictly follow specifications: Wani | | | | JAMMU, Feb 8:-Minister for R&B and Mechanical Engineering, Abdul Majid Wani today inspected the work in progress on the 3.60 km Satwari- Kunjwani Road stretch, 200 bed Maternity Hospital Gandhinagar and Government Dental College block at Rehari. Wani continuing with his series of visits took on the spot review of the projects under construction and took detailed brief from the executing agencies regarding these major works of significant public interest. While reviewing the progress and pace of work on the Four lane Satwari- Kunjwani road stretch which is nearing completion, Wani laid emphasis on maintaing standards of quality in both the material used and following standard engineering practices of construction. He also gave strict direction to the concerned engineers to ensure no encroachment what so ever takes place on the road. The overall estimated cost of the project is Rs 33 crore. The first phase costing Rs 19.49 crore involved construction of 9 bridges and culverts at various points, side drains, drainage crossings, central verge and other associated infrastructure. The second phase will involve complete black topping of the entire 3.60 km road length for which process of sanction and release of funds has been fast tracked. Wani later also visited work in progress on the 200 bed Maternity Hospital at Gandhinagar coming up at an estimated cost of 50 crore and Government Dental College at Rehari coming up at an estimated cost of Rs 31.60 crore. The Minister saw detailed drawings of the projects under construction and also received brief about various engineering aspects of both the projects. He was informed that lift, Ramp and parking facilities have been incorporated as part of the projects to facilitate general public. |
