Big wins for MCC Chandwan, Tiny Scholars

KATHUA, Feb 8: The MCC Chandwan and Tiny Scholars today registered impressive wins to strengthen their position in the ongoing Kathua Premier League (KPL) Twenty20 Tournament at Sports Stadium, here.
In the first match of the day, MCC Chandwan made it a huge 122 runs win against SCC Kathua. Batting first, after winning the toss, MCC set a challenging target of 181 runs for the loss of six wickets, which, in reply, SCC could not chase and the whole side bowled out for 58 runs in 11.3 overs.
Rishi remained top scorer with 49-ball 69 runs including ten boundaries while Ashwani made 63 studded with 10 fours and a six. From SCC Kathua, Pulad took two wickets while Jaswinder and Baba shared one each.
Later, SCC made a meek surrender with all their wickets fell for just 58 runs in 11.3 overs. Harsh was only batsman, who could score in double figure with 14 runs in his account. Veeru was pick of the bowers with six wickets while Ashwani took three.
While Ashwani was adjudged man of the match, Veeru was presented cash prize for his match winning six wickets haul by the organisers. Meanwhile, another match of the day, Tiny Scholars outplayed Kathua Lions by 67 runs. Earlier, Tiny Scholars won the toss and batting first made 178 runs losing all their wickets in 17 overs. Satnam top scored with 61 runs made with the help of nine boundaries and two sixes while Ranjit contributed 53. Ismail took three wickets from Kathua Lions, followed by Chandan and Ridham, who shared two each.
In reply, Kathua Lions could not maintain the required run rate and exhausted their quota of 20 overs at 111 runs for seven wickets. Shubam and Lucky claimed two wickets each from Tiny Scholars. For his match winning innings of 61 runs, Satnam was declared man of the match. FIXTURE: KCCC shall take on Kings XI Kathua while Stadium (Senior) XI shall be playing against GDC Kathua tomorrow.
